The Korea Visa Application Center (KVAC) Philippines announced on Thursday that it has simplified its document requirements for Filipino applicants to boost tourism. These new guidelines were simplified with the aim to enhance convenience for applicants and further promote travel to South Korea. The revisions are officially set to take effect on February 20, 2026. Under the updated policy, among other revisions, applicants are no longer required to submit three months' worth of bank statements. (Facebook/Korea Visa Application Center Philippines).

"“As long as other reachable contact information (email address or mobile phone number) is provided, the document will be accepted,” KVAC said."

In order to enhance convenience for visa applicants and promote visits to Korea, the required supporting documents for visa applications will be revised as follows, effective February 20, 2026. • For all types of required documents, the submission of “three (3) months of bank statements” will be waived. • For student applicants, the proof of student status requirement will be changed from “Original School Certificate and copy of Student ID” to “either the original School Certificate or a copy of the Student ID” (the applicant may choose and submit one). • In cases with multiple applicants, common documents (e.g., invitation letter, family relationship documents, company-related documents, etc.) should be submitted in one (1) copy only and attached to the representative applicant’s file. • For employment-related documents, the submission of an explanation letter will be waived in cases where there is no landline number indicated, or when it is issued with an electronic signature.
